On July 12, SKS held the signing ceremony for the "Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) on Farmland Ecological Enhancement in the Lanyang Plain" in Sanxing Township, Yilan County. SKS joined forces with the Hualien District Agricultural Research and Extension Station (HDARES) and the Ching Chu Yilan Agriculture Marketing Cooperative, launching farmland-centered ecological initiatives to protect the biodiversity of the Lanyang Plain and fulfill the Company's commitment to environmental sustainability and social responsibility. The ceremony was witnessed by Director-General Lao-Dar Juang of the Department of Resources Sustainability, Ministry of Agriculture, underscoring a powerful cross-sector commitment to promoting sustainable agriculture.

SKS has long been dedicated to sustainable business operations, embedding ESG principles into its strategic core. This collaboration focuses on three primary pillars: habitat restoration, environmental education, and sustainable consumption. Through scientific observation and the establishment of habitats for pollinators, SKS supports the conservation of farmland biodiversity and inspires public appreciation for nature. Additionally, the Company provides tangible support to local farmers through farmland adoption and the procurement of eco-friendly agricultural products, ensuring stable production and enhanced livelihoods.

As part of the initiative, HDARES provides professional ecological surveys and technical guidance, while the Ching Chu Yilan Agriculture Marketing Cooperative helps drive organic farming practices, biodiversity workshops, farmers' markets, and family-oriented agricultural experiences. These activities create a shared learning platform that amplifies public engagement in environmental protection.

A highlight of the event was the traditional "Bai Tian Tou" (Field Worship) blessing ceremony, symbolizing a profound connection with the land. This also marked the official launch of a solitary bee sanctuary, serving as a demonstration site for ecological monitoring and pollinator conservation. The event also featured a hands-on rice harvesting experience and a local farmers' market, where guests could savor eco-friendly products. Through these farm-to-table experiences, participants gained a deeper understanding of the vital link between agricultural sustainability and biodiversity.

SKS stated that, following its recognition as an ESG STORE demonstration enterprise by the Ministry of Agriculture, it is proud to advance this farmland ecology project. This initiative not only fulfills the Company’s sustainability strategy and supports the United Nations SDGs, but also showcases the synergy between the private sector, government, and local communities. Looking ahead, SKS will expand its ecological programs to include nature observation records, environmental training, and the circular application of agricultural waste. This MOU represents a heartfelt commitment to the land and a significant milestone in building a sustainable future for the next generation.
