“Twenty Years of Legacy: Advancing Together Through Art" — SKS Foundation 20th Anniversary Thanksgiving Event

Publication Date:

Since its establishment in 2004, the SKS Foundation for Arts and Culture has remained steadfast in its mission to promote arts education and support cultural creation, striving to connect society and enrich the human spirit through the power of art. Marking its 20th anniversary this year, the Foundation held the "Twenty Years of Legacy: Advancing Together Through Art" Thanksgiving Event on August 22 at the Department for Youth, Taipei City Government. The event brought together long-term partners, representatives from the arts and cultural sectors, and distinguished guests to reflect on two decades of achievements and envision a blueprint for sustainable culture.

The celebration featured live performances by arts groups long supported by the Foundation, delivering moving and powerful presentations that embodied the Foundation’s commitment to deep cultural cultivation and cross-disciplinary integration. Through video retrospectives and interactive exchanges, the event showcased the significant cultural assets and social impact the Foundation has accumulated over the past 20 years.

In alignment with the ESG sustainability philosophy of Shin Kong Security (SKS), the Foundation has integrated these values into its initiatives, following the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) as a framework. As a token of appreciation, guests were presented with "Little Shell Workshop Handmade Soap" and "Tudigogo Essential Oil." The handmade soap was produced through a vocational empowerment program for disadvantaged groups, supporting the growth of local artisanal industries. The essential oil was sourced from eco-friendly and sustainable farming practices, symbolizing a commitment to protecting the land and giving back to society.

Richard Wu, Chairman of the SKS Foundation for Arts and Culture, stated that for twenty years, the Foundation has believed in the power of art to drive positive social development. Moving forward, guided by ESG principles, the Foundation will continue to build cultural bridges that bring inspiration and hope to the public. Executive Director Kuo-Min Tsou added that the Foundation aims to deepen cross-sector collaborations and promote impactful artistic initiatives to fulfill its mission of cultural sustainability.

This 20th-anniversary event is not only a moment of gratitude but a starting point for a new chapter. The SKS Foundation for Arts and Culture will continue to champion cultural development, collaborating with all sectors of society to illuminate the world through art as it embarks on its journey toward the next twenty years.
