Publication Date:

Amid the global wave of sustainable development and corporate social responsibility, SKS remains committed to addressing societal needs through forward-looking actions. At the "USR X ESG Demo Day | ESG Solutions Lab," SKS and the College of Smart Health at Southern Taiwan University of Science and Technology formally signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU), witnessed by a Director from the Ministry of Education. This initiative not only symbolizes industry-academia collaboration aimed at enhancing sustainability efforts but also demonstrates a blueprint for intergenerational sustainable talent development, driven by smart technology, talent cultivation, and digital transformation.

The signing ceremony was represented by Richard Wu, Chairman of SKS, and Professor Chang Chun-Sheng, Dean of the College of Smart Health at Southern Taiwan University of Science and Technology. Both parties, sharing a common vision for driving USR (University Social Responsibility) and ESG (Environmental, Social, Governance), have established a long-term partnership that integrates academic research, corporate technology resources, and local community needs to build a cross-disciplinary ecosystem for collective well-being jointly.

The collaboration focuses on four key areas: First, industry, academia, and community resources are integrated to promote elderly care, community engagement, and smart applications, realizing "cross-disciplinary shared benefit"; second, the Fangqiao Daycare Center of SKS will offer summer internship opportunities for students to deepen professional talent cultivation and allow young individuals to gain hands-on experience; third, both parties will accelerate the formation of cooperative models for emergency response systems for elderly living alone, seeking policy support and improving service coverage and efficiency; finally, through safety education courses provided by the “AN SHIN CLASSROOM”, the university and community activities will disseminate additional safety knowledge, thereby further enhancing public awareness of risks.

Richard Wu, Chairman of SKS, stated: "The cornerstone of sustainable transformation lies not only in achieving net-zero emissions and sound governance structures, but also in leveraging smart technology to address real-world societal needs and cultivating next-generation talent capable of taking on future responsibilities. This approach will enable us to become a driver and connector of social sustainability." Professor Chang, Chun-Sheng, Dean of the College of Smart Health at Southern Taiwan University of Science and Technology, underscored that the significance of the USR program lies in its ability to motivate faculty and students to engage with communities and, through collaboration with enterprises, tightly integrate research outcomes with local needs. He stated, "Cooperating with SKS not only enables students to apply their professional knowledge, but also fosters cross-disciplinary industry-academia collaboration, creating a mutually beneficial situation that combines social impact and educational value."

In the future, both parties will continue to enhance their collaboration by integrating smart applications, educational resources, and community strengths to inject collective shared benefit into Taiwanese society, jointly building a sustainable development model powered by digital transformation and anchored in talent cultivation.
