Shin Kong Security Bridges Cross-Sector Partnerships to Advance Agricultural Sustainability, Setting a New Benchmark for Corporate ESG

Publication Date:

When the Ministry of Agriculture launched the ESG STORE platform last October to connect the corporate sector with agricultural sustainability initiatives, it created a new matchmaking system that reduces barriers for businesses to support Taiwan’s sustainable agriculture. At the “Agricultural Sustainability ESG Exchange and Recognition Ceremony” held on December 10, the Ministry also released the latest Agricultural Sustainability ESG Partnership Guidelines, helping enterprises participate in agricultural sustainability more clearly and easily.

Invited to share its long-term commitment and practical achievements, Shin Kong Security demonstrated how cross-sector collaboration, contract farming, and education in food and farming have shaped its distinctive ESG approach. The company’s initiatives quickly became a highlight of the event, illustrating a strategic plan and organizational resilience within the broader agricultural sustainability landscape.

Shin Kong Security’s core mission—protecting community safety—extends far beyond urban boundaries. It reaches into farmlands, rural communities, and the sustainable future of the next generation. A decade ago, the company began with a simple employee-initiated rice donation campaign supporting children in rural areas and older adults living alone. This grassroots effort blossomed into a formal partnership with the Ching Chu Yilan Cooperative, promoting organic farming, empowering young farmers to return home, and building a long-term, scalable model of eco-friendly agriculture.

At the same time, the company’s long-standing “An-Shin Classroom” program has evolved into a central platform for ecological education—helping employees, children, families, and communities understand the natural value embedded in each bowl of rice. Staff and their families participate directly in transplanting seedlings and harvesting rice, turning the idea of “caring for the land” into actual practice. Together with young farmers, the company conducts ecological monitoring, promotes solitary-bee habitats, and transforms fields into living nature classrooms. The results of this deep local engagement are not only healthier rice fields—they include revitalized communities, renewed participation, and a clear sustainability role for the company.

This year’s showcase also highlighted Shin Kong Security’s collaboration with partners to advance circular solutions for agricultural by-products. Extending the lifecycle of each grain of rice, the company—though not an agriculture enterprise by nature—believes sustainability requires cross-disciplinary commitment and broad stakeholder participation. Sustainability thrives when more people can join the value-creation process. When businesses step onto the frontline of agriculture—through stable procurement, participatory learning, and circular-material innovation—agricultural sustainability becomes tangible, measurable, and scalable as an ESG action.

During the ceremony, the Ministry of Agriculture recognized Shin Kong Security and other corporate partners for their diverse contributions to Taiwan’s agricultural, cultural, and natural sustainability. Looking ahead, Shin Kong Security will continue expanding its sustainability efforts, strengthening biodiversity monitoring, and accelerating the application of agricultural circular materials. The company aims to mobilize broader partnerships and help build a resilient and competitive future for Taiwan’s agriculture.
