Publication Date:

In support of the International Day for Biological Diversity, Taiwan’s Ministry of Agriculture joined hands for the first time with the “CommonWealth Sustainability Club,” established by CommonWealth Magazine, to host the “Corporate Support for Agricultural Sustainability ESG Public-Private Forum and Pledge Ceremony” at Taipei New Horizon. The event brought together representatives from 30 benchmark enterprises across the finance, technology, healthcare, service, and manufacturing sectors to discuss how businesses can advance biodiversity conservation and nature-positive development through agricultural ESG initiatives. SKS was also invited to participate in the event, with Senior Associate Vice President Chou Kuo-Min attending the forum on behalf of the company to share SKS’s sustainability and ecological co-prosperity practices.

The Ministry of Agriculture stated that amid the global sustainability transition, businesses are not only important drivers of sustainable governance, but also key partners in promoting biodiversity and sustainable agriculture. Through cross-sector collaboration and resource integration, companies can leverage their core competencies, supply chain management capabilities, and ESG goals to establish long-term and impactful partnerships with the agricultural sector, jointly creating sustainable outcomes that generate environmental, social, and economic value.

During the forum session, SKS shared its recent experience in advancing ESG and biodiversity-related initiatives. Senior Associate Vice President Chou Kuo-Min noted that SKS has long been committed to sustainable development. In addition to continuously strengthening smart technology applications and sustainable governance, the company has actively integrated biodiversity and environmental conservation concepts into its corporate culture and employee engagement initiatives.

From habitat restoration and ecological conservation to fostering internal sustainability awareness, SKS hopes to transform sustainability from a concept into an integral part of daily operations and the corporate value chain through concrete actions and active participation.

SKS also emphasized that corporate sustainability cannot rely on the efforts of a single organization alone, but instead requires public-private partnerships and cross-sector collaboration to bring together more stakeholders. Moving forward, the company will continue focusing on sustainable agriculture, ecological conservation, and nature-positive initiatives while collaborating with government agencies, supply chain partners, and broader society through diversified partnership models to jointly create an industrial environment that is resilient, ecologically valuable, and sustainable.

The event also showcased the achievements of the Ministry of Agriculture’s “ESG STORE” matchmaking platform, featuring various successful initiatives in eco-friendly agriculture, ecological habitat restoration, indigenous seed preservation, and marine restoration. These cases demonstrated the diverse sustainability value generated through cross-sector collaboration between businesses and the agricultural sector.
