SKS Earns TRIPs 1.5°C Certification for the Fourth Consecutive Year

Publication Date:

SKS participated in the Temperature Rising Index for Pathways (TRIPs) 1.5°C Forum organized by CommonWealth Sustainability on June 12 and was once again recognized with the 1.5°C certification, marking its fourth consecutive year of receiving this distinction. The certification evaluates companies based on their publicly disclosed carbon reduction targets and emissions management plans, assessing whether their decarbonization pathways are aligned with the Paris Agreement goal of limiting global warming to 1.5°C.

In response to the risks posed by climate change and the global transition toward net-zero emissions, SKS continues to integrate climate-related considerations into its business operations and management. Through energy conservation initiatives, energy management programs, and low-carbon transformation planning, the Company actively advances greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions management. In 2025, SKS not only obtained the Green-Level Net Zero Label certification issued by the Taiwan Institute for Sustainable Energy (TAISE), but was also recognized as one of Business Weekly’s Top 100 Carbon Competitiveness Companies and received the Green Enterprise Award, demonstrating its ongoing commitment to environmental management and carbon governance.

In terms of climate governance, SKS has established a comprehensive GHG inventory system and continues to conduct climate-related risk and opportunity assessments in accordance with the recommendations of the Task Force on Climate-related Financial Disclosures (TCFD). Through oversight by the Board of Directors and management, climate-related issues are incorporated into business decision-making and risk management processes, providing a solid foundation for the Company’s low-carbon transition strategy.

Regarding carbon management, SKS has adopted 2022 as its baseline year for GHG inventory and continues to implement energy-efficiency improvements and operational optimization measures. In 2025, the Company’s total GHG emissions amounted to 7,413.35 metric tons of carbon dioxide equivalent (tCO₂e), representing a reduction of approximately 527 tCO₂e, or 6.6%, compared with the baseline year. Direct emissions (Category 1) decreased by 17.9%, reflecting the effectiveness of ongoing management initiatives and equipment optimization efforts.

From an operational perspective, SKS leverages AIoT technologies to develop digital services, enhancing operational efficiency through remote monitoring and intelligent management systems. The Company also provides energy management-related services to help customers improve energy-use efficiency. On the environmental front, SKS continues to support biodiversity conservation, environmental education, and circular resource utilization initiatives, including solitary bee habitat restoration, agricultural by-product recycling, and coral restoration projects, demonstrating its commitment to environmental stewardship through tangible actions.

SKS stated that receiving the TRIPs 1.5°C certification for the fourth consecutive year affirms the Company’s carbon reduction targets and management mechanisms. Looking ahead, SKS will continue to advance GHG management, improve energy efficiency, and promote low-carbon transformation in line with its established decarbonization goals. Through transparent information disclosure and stakeholder engagement, the Company will regularly review and enhance its management practices to address the challenges and opportunities arising from climate change and sustainable development trends.
